On August 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM, the top beer milers from around the world were assembling at an undisclosed high school track just outside of Vancouver, B.C. for the 4th annual Beer Mile World Classic. Nine of the top ten beer milers of all time were in attendance to compete for the world title and attempt to shave a few seconds off their respective national records.

Corey Bellemore has held his position atop the world beer mile leaderboard since the summer of 2016 when he became the first person to break the 4:40 barrier with a 4:39 time trial at a local track in Canada. The next day, he traveled to London to compete in the Beer Mile World Classic where he lowered the world record to 4:34.35 and caught attention from media outlets around the world.

Instead of consuming four 12-ounce beers as in the standard beer mile, the chunder mile requires four imperial pints (20 fluid ounces each) to be chugged out of pint cups. That's nearly double the volume of beer - 80 ounces in the chunder mile versus 48 ounces in the standard beer mile.
