Beer Mile Country Teams

Since 2014, world championship races have brought together the best beer milers around the world to crown world champions and set records. The beer mile has grown into a global sport, with the annual Beer Mile World Classic being our sport's Olympic event.

Each year, countries across the globe come together to compete for prize money and the glory of winning the team beer mile world title. At the 2019 event, 8 countries were represented on the men's side and 5 countries on the women's side. With the 2020 Beer Mile World Classic being a virtual event, that list of countries is likely to grow.

Meet the Men and Women Representing Their Country's Beer Mile Team

USA Beer Mile Team

The USA has been a dominant force in the beer mile since inception. The women's team has won 4 of the past 7 world titles (2015, 2019, 2020, 2021) and has crowned 6 individual world champions.

On the men's side, the USA and Canadian teams duked it out in close battles repetitively in the first few years of the sport going international. However, the USA men have dominated in recent years, winning 5 straight team titles (2017 - 2021). Chris Robertson has taken the individual crown twice (2017, 2020).

What is a beer mile?

The Beer Mile is equal parts gastric challenge and athletic endeavor, requiring competitors to drink a 355ml beer (5% minimum ABV) before every quarter mile of the race, totaling four beers over the one-mile course. See the official beer mile rules here.
