Beer Mile Records & Results

Beer mile records have fallen repetitively over the past few years as the sport has emerged into the mainstream from its underground, sub-culture past. In 2014, the 5-minute barrier was broken for the first time. Now, there are 11 men who have run sub-5 and the world record stands at 4:33. We have not yet seen the first sub-6 by a woman, with the current women's beer mile world record standing at 6:08.

Since 2014, world championship races have brought together the best beer milers around the world to crown world champions and set records. Beer mile records, all-time top performances, and results are summarized below and will continue to be updated.

Current Beer Mile World Record

Corey Bellemore (Canada) - 4:33.6

Corey Bellemore of Canada holds the current beer mile world record with a time of 4:33.6. It was set on October 28, 2017 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, CA during a Deltas soccer game as the half-time show. Corey ran 4:24 at the Beer Mile World Classic 2018 in Vancover, British Columbia, which would have shattered the world record by 9 seconds, but he was disqualified for having slightly too much foam left.

Current Beer 2-Mile World Record

Jim Finlayson (Canada) - 11:39

The Beer 2-Mile is a daunting feat, to say the least. 8 beers, 8 laps plus the additional ~18 meters to make it a full 2 miles. The same rules apply as the beer mile. If a competitor pukes, he must run an additional lap. Essentially, it is involves back-to-back beer miles.

Jim Finlayson of Canada, the OG beer miler, set the world record on May 13, 2016 in Victoria, BC in a time of 11:39, which shattered the previous world record by a couple of minutes. He made it the full 8 beers and 8 laps without vomiting. And he did it as a 44 year-old. Take a look at this beast of the beer mile.
